Ernest Russell Tims Jr.

RALEIGH Ernest Russell Tims Jr., 79, died Jan. 26 at his home. Graveside service was Jan. 30 at Raleigh Memorial Park.

He was born in Harrison, Ark., Nov. 18, 1929, son of the late Ernest Russell Tims Sr. and Maud Lindsey Tims. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and came out of service as a captain. With his ROTC service, he was able to enter and graduate from Georgia Tech with an electrical engineering degree. He retired as vice president of operations with CRS-Sirrine Co. In addition to his parents, he wa s preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Grace Tims, July 17, 1984.

Surviving: wife, Carolyn Lowrey Tims; son, Ray Tims and wife Dell Davis Tims of Raleigh; grandson, Raymond Lindsey Tims Jr. of Burlington, Vt.
