Mr. Carl Currie, Sr., age 80, Clay, Alabama, died Saturday, February 25, 2006.
He was retired after 35 years of service with the Federal Government in Civil Defense. He was an active member of Hilldale Baptist Church. He attended the Deerfoot Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He received a commendation while serving in the occupation of Korea after the war. He was preceded in death by his parents R.L. and Clara Currie, one brother, Luther Currie, and one sister, Lena Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Kuykendall Currie, three thildren, Jaira Ward, Bill Currie and Myra Roberts; six brothers and sisters, Louise Currie. Ben Currie, Donald Currie, Earnest Currie, Pat Currie, and Clarice Woods; nine grandchildren, Ben,Danielle,Sarah, Jon,Timothy,Hannah, and Joseph War, and Julian and Justin Currie; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jefferson Memorial Trussville.
