AMERICAN FORK - Wednesday at 2 o'clock, funeral services will be held in the Alpine stake tabernacle for Mrs. Eliza Jane Summers Singleton, 69, who died Saturday night.
Mrs. Singleton was a native of England, the daughter of Abraham and Mary Ann Summers, who came to Utah when Mrs. Singleton was a child of twelve years. The family settled in American Fork.
Her marriage to Thomas Singleton took place in 1879. Of their seven children, six survive. Mr. Singleton died in March 1929. Mrs. Singleton was a teacher in the Relief society for a number of years.
The children surviving are: John H. Singleton, Sandy; Dell Singleton, Mrs. Lettie Peck, Mrs. Lillie Jensen, Mrs. Ruby Condor and Mrs. Stella Shelley, American Fork, also 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, also three sisters, Mrs. Edith Adams, American Fork; Mrs. Louisa Phillips, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Amy Tamietti, Dividend, and a brother, George Summers, Shelley, Idaho.
Lucretia and Eliza Mower were born Aug. 29, 1854 at North Ogden Weber Co., Utah. Lucretia died at the age of 2 years and eight months and twenty days. Eliza was thus deprived of the companionship of her twin sister.
In 1858 when Johnston's army came to Utah her parents moved to Springville where they made their permanent home.
