Time passes ... closing while unfolding forever...
Life itself is marked by adaptation, passion and the creation of memories in others.
Dorothy lived ... boldly, with humility, compassion and love. She touched and was touched by the souls that surrounded her at different times and places. She accepted accountability for her every action. She inspired.
Born in Ohio, raised in Michigan the fifth child of Victor and Lillian Bellor, she raised three children alone on a waitress's salary. Along the way she accepted the challenges of life with vigor and determination. With raw courage, chutzpah and humility she evolved. With three children raised, she returned to secure her GED and then college degree. She finished her career as a special education teacher here in Prescott Valley. She chose this type of student because they and their families most needed her unique spiritual tenacity.
And during this journey she continued to test and challenge herself. She was one of the oldest students to ever take the challenging Outward Bound program.
Her travels took her throughout Europe, South America and Asia. She made friends. She gave memories to those she met. She laughed and loved the little moments that define life. She showed ‘élan vital' that vital life force that is within us all.
She was more than spiritual. She believed deeply in God, the Church and loved profoundly her friends at Saint Germaine's. They reached out to her in her final days with such love and caring. They also inspired. Now she rests with no regrets having earned her place in our hearts.
We loved her so much - Gary, Jody, Michael... and everyone who was touched by her spirit.
