LORENA MAE HAMBLEN March 21, 1928 - Dec. 7, 2007
Funeral services for Lorena Mae Hamblen, 79, of Goliad will be held at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Goliad, assisted by Colonial Funeral Home.
Brother Helms, pastor, will officiate. Graveside services will be held immediately following at Glendale Cemetery in Goliad.
Mrs. Hamblen died on December 7, 2007, at Houston Hospice. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Goliad.
She was born in Milnesand, NM. Lorena lived in Goliad prior to entering a nursing home in Houston. She was a beloved wife and mother and previously lived on a ranch in Franklin. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, an avid gardener, an excellent cook, and a dedicated Sunday school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Allen Hamblen, Jr.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and James Martin of Victoria, Patsy and Ray Easterling of Houston, and Janice and Jim Boyle of Burnett; two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Arlene Hamblen of Issaquah, Wash., and William and Glenda Hamblen of Kent, Wash.; one sister, Theresa Billings of Goliad; one brother, Dale Parkinson of Victoria; 11 grandchildren; and 16.5 greatgrandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations go to the American Cancer Society or the National Alzheimer Association.
