Billy Gene Willingham, 74, of Moore, OK, died Saturday, February 20, 2010, in Norman, OK following a long battle with Parkinson's disease."Bill", was born July 1, 1935, in Marsden, OK, the son of Samuel Lee and Ruth (Turner) Willingham. He attended Moore High School. A United States Veteran, he served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and the Army Reserve from 1957 to 1962. Bill learned the meaning of hard work as a young boy, working on his father's farm. He was a man of many talents? a jack-of-all-trades. No matter the task at hand, he put in the necessary time, stuck with it when it wasn't always fun, persevered in the face of setbacks and failures, and developed all of the skills necessary to realize success. He retired in 1997 as Transportation/Warehouse Manager for Perfection Hytest in Purcell, OK.He is survived by two sons: Richard Willingham and wife, Hallie, of OKC, OK and Jim Willingham and wife, Sue, of OKC, OK; one step-son, Rick Ayers and wife, Lori, of Edmond, OK; two daughters: Donna Kraeer and husband, Mark, of McLoud, OK and Gwen Vollbrecht and husband, Jack, of Edmond, OK; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.Bill was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Lillie Clifton and Samuel Willingham Jr.; his first wife and mother of his four children, Connie Stewart; his second wife and mother of his step-son, Stella (Van Buren) Ayers.Services will be held Wednesday, February 24, at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Moore. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in OKC.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the OKC Chapter - Parkinson's Foundation of the Heartland, 1000 W. Wilshire, Ste. 364, OKC, OK 73116.Arrangements are made with John M. Ireland Funeral Home, 120 South Bdwy. Moore, OK 73160, 405.799.1200.The family would like to thank the staff of the Norman Veterans Center and the OKC VA Home Based Primary Care team for their loving care and support.
