KENOSHA - Magdalene A. Baker, 88, formerly of Racine, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon October 16, 2007 in Washington Manor. She was born June 20, 1919, in Racine the daughter of Andrew and Julia (nee: Block) Lasko. Magdalene married Lester F. Baker on August 26, 1939 in Racine. He died July 25, 1968. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Magdalene enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing and knitting, along with travels up north with her husband, years ago. Survivors include her loving children, Clayton N. (Joy) Baker of Racine, Sharon Edwards of Aberdeen, Miss., and Karon (Ron) Morse of Racine, eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Lang of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Nicholas; and a sister, Marian Haakensen. Funeral services will be Friday, October 19, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home, Pastor Daniel Quinn officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank Hospice Alliance for their loving and tender care of Magdalene in her final days. (end)
