Julius Hensel immigrated to America in 1839 with his siblings and parents from Prussia. He was married to Sarah Ellen Simpson. His parents settled in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin around 1841. Julius married Sarah in 1858. They went to Glencoe, Buffalo, Wisconsin where he was a farmer, then they moved to Arcadia, Trempealeau, Wisconsin.
