"Stephen A. 'Stip' Filipich, 66, died Tuesday, November 27, 2001, in Biloxi. Mr. Filipich was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi. He was a graduate and salutatorian of Notre Dame High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University. Mr. Filipich served as a captain in the U. S. Army Reserve and he was the captain of the 'Maggie Too' Shrimp Boat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Meco and Marguerite Sekul Filipich; and a brother, Nicholas 'K-9' Filipich. Survivors include three sisters, Lucy 'Sue' Filipich Trebotich of Jackson, Ms; Jeanette Filipich Kuluz of Pascagoula and Judy Ann Filipich of New Orleans, La.; four nieces, Lucy Trebtich, Michel Trebotich, Cindy Muscarello and Mary Kuluz Coon; six nephews, Dr. John Kuluz, Thomas Trebotich, Mark Trebotich, Dr. David Trebotich, Nicky Trebotich and Paul Trebotich; five great nieces; and one great nephew. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2001, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Biloxi were friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Southern Memorial Park. Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of the arrangements."
