AG 'CHUB' PHILBRICK: GraysHarbor today mourned the death of Chub Philbrick, veteran Aberdeen cigar store operator & brother of Mayor RalphL Philbrick-Hoquiam. He suffered an attack at his Morck hotel cigar stand last week & died early this morning at a local hosp. He was 60yrs old. MrPhilbrick was born at Wausau WI & came to GraysHarbor in 1890. In the early days he reisded in Hoquiam but in his later years he & his family made their home in Aberdeen. He was an outstanding baseball pitcher in his youth. He played for Hoquiam & Aberdeen teams in the old southwest Wasthington leaue & with the Vancouver BC & Seattle clubs in the old Northwest league. He also played for MtVernon. In 1904 he was in the cast of a theatrical troupe which toured Wasington & Oregon & played on the troupe's baseball team. In the early GraysHarbor county fair days, MrPhilbrick competed in bicycle races. He played golf in later years. He was in the cigar store buisness approximately 30yrs, during which time he managed or operated some of the largest Aberdeen cigar stores. He operated the stand in the Morck hotel since 1924.

Surviving are his wife-Anna; a dau: MrsAL Oswald-LosAngeles, enroute here by plane & 4 bros: Ralph & Ben-Hoquiam, Clarence-Raymond & EA-Olympia. The Whiteside company will announce services.
