Death was attributed to a heart attack . He was born April 27, 1892 in Burkettsville, Md. a son of the late Tilghman and Helen M. (Norris) Alexander. He lived in the Blue Ridge Summit area for 40 years, residing at his present residence for the last six years. For 10 years he worked as a carpenter at State College and in 1948 contracted the building of The Seventh-day Adventist Churc h in Waynesboro, of which he is a charter member.
Prior to his retirement 14 years ago, he was employed by the E.A. Strout Real Estate office in Greencastle for eight years. Alexander, was a WW I veteran with the 313th Infantry, 79th Division serving on the fronts of Mense Argonne Montfancon, Troyon Sector and Grand Montagne.
He and Mrs. Alexander were married June 7 , 1920 in Hagerstown , by the late Rev . G.L. Reider.
He is survive d y his widow, Mrs. Aliene S. Alexander; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Stitley, Barkley , Md., and Mrs. Pearl Zent, Ocean Side , Calif., and one son, Gordon L. Alexander, Shady Grove. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Benchoff, Blue Ridge Summit and Mrs.
Mary Fleagle , Fort Myers, Fla .
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in The Seventh-day Adventist Church, with the Pastor Harold A. Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery .
