Caroline was the daughter of William Henry and Catherine Grindstaff Perkins. She married her first cousin David Wilson "Dink" Perkins on January 26, 1861 in Boone Co, MO. From this union were born seven known children: Martha Wilson, Andrew Jackson "Andy", Sallie, George Riley, Jonathan Everette, David and Reuben Edward.

--Mrs. Caroline Perkins Dies-- Mrs. Caroline Matilda Perkins died at her home, corner 5th and Locust streets, Saturday evening at 8 o'clock of tuberculosis. She was born in Boone county, Mo, on October 12, 1839, and had resided in the county most all of her life. The funeral was preached by Rev. Tadlock of the Methodist church. Interment in the Columbia cemetery. The deceased is survived by her husband and four children, A. J.(Andrew Jackson), J. E. (Jonathan Everette) and R. E. (Reuben Edward) Perkins and Miss Martha Perkins.

Babe Palmer and wife (Mary Matilda Perkins) and Harrison Perkins and wife (Mamie Pecolia Calvert) went to Columbia Sunday afternoon to attend the funeral of their mother (should be grandmother), Mrs. Matilda Perkins, who died Saturday.
