Thomas Elmer Airhart, 62, died at the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis yesterday after an illness of several months.
The family home is at 808 Burlington Dr.
Mr. Airhart was born in Ohio and moved to Muncie as a young man. He had been employed at Warner Gear for about 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War I and was a member of Delaware Post 19, American Legion.
Surviving besides his wife Clora Eva, are a daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Stevens, Muncie; a son, Wallace Airhart, Muncie; a step-daughter, Mrs. Margaret Thomas, Muncie; a sister, Mrs. Arah Maule, Muncie; two brothers, Clarence Airhart of Chicago, and Grover of Pittsburg, Penn.; a grandchild, and eight step-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Meeks Mortuary at 3 o'clock Thursday with Rev. Dewey Hole of Gas City in charge. Members of the American Legion will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the American Legion plot of Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 o'clock Wednesday.
