The son of William and Rebecca Rogers Henson, he was born July 11, 1908, at Hayesville, where he had lived all of his lifetime. He was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad for 45 years, retiring on July 10, 1973.
He was a member of Webb Lodge, AF and Am in Sigourney; the American Legion and the Brotherhood of Way of Milwaukee Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army from Sept 1942 until Dec 1945. He spent 32 months in the South Pacific. On April 12, 1947, he was married to Ila Middleton at the Little Brown Church at Nashua.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Gary and his wife, Kathy of Fremont; and a daughter, Londa and her husband, David Suter of Oxford; a granddaughter, Jodi and a sister Mrs Nina Ulin of Manor House Nursing Home in Sigourney. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Herbert, Clyde and Waldo Henson; and five sisters, Mr Myrtle Dawson, Mrs Doris Utterback, Mrs Fawn Carson, Mrs Juanita Mertz and Cletus Henson in infancy.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. at the Reynolds Funeral Chapel with the Rev Leonard Leslie officiating. Marilyn Mertz was the organist. Internment was in the Pennington Cemetery.
