My name is Frances Gaile Bois Claire Lyons. We were married almost 5 years before he went to Vietnam, we had one son Daniel Keith and I was pregnant with our second son, that is why his name is Ronald Alan Junior born on October 26, 1967. Ronnie also was married before to Mary Eunice Olliff Bois Claire and had a son Robert Alan and a daughter Helen Marie. Yes, he was a great man, a good father, very funny, a neat freak and a real hard worker. I love him dearly after all these years. His mother wanted a graveside to go and put flowers and talk to him. Although we did not have a body he actually has one at East Lawn Palms in Tuscon, Arizona. I got to go back there on Memorial Day 2006 after 39 years, it was a sad but a wonderful experience, I will forever miss him.

Other Personnel In Incident: Edward Jacobs, Jr. and James Zavocky (missing)

Seaman Bois Claire was a member of Heavy Photographic Squadron 62, U.S. Navy.

On August 25, 1967, he was a crewmwn of a Douglas Skywarrior Attack Aircraft (RA-3B) over North Vietnam when radio contact was lost.

Electronic and visual searches were unable to locate any sign of the aircraft or its crew either in the off-shore water, along the coastline or over land. The reconnaissance aircraft simply vanished without a trace.

On 30 August, five days after the formal search operation began, it was terminated.

While the fate of Edward Jacobs, James Zavocky and Ronald Bois Claire appears to be in little doubt since the US Navy believes they disappeared over water.

His remains were not recovered.
