Following an extended illness, the death of Mrs. Lena Belle Barnes, wife of Frank P. Barnes, occurred Tuesday morning. Mrs. Barnes had long been a resident of this city and news of her passing is a regret of many friends. She was born in Eaton, September 18, 1872.
Besides her husband, the following children survive: Mrs. Charles Sawyer, Mrs. G.H. Sprague, Harold Barnes and Mrs. V.C. Smith, also 19 grandchildren, all residing in Norwich.
Funeral services are to be held from the Breese Funeral Home Thursday afternoon. Rev. George B. Callender, pastor of the Broad Street Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. (Published in the Chenango Union Thursday, June 23, 1938)
