|Birth: ||Jul. 21, 1916|
|Death: ||Dec. 8, 1979|
She was 63 years old at the time of her death.
She lived almost all of her life at the family home on 8132 Jeanes Street. from 1922 until her death.
It was known as the "Glenn house" by all the neighbors up until the 1980's when people started referring to it as the "Duff house".
In those days families lived in the same house for several generations. The house was finally sold out of the family in 2002.
She was the child that stayed home and took care of her elderly father. She suffered from Parkinson's Disease all her adult life , but it didn't slow her down. She was an active member of two serorities from highschool through to her death. She was an active member of her church, and its senior club.
She loved to entertain in her lifelong family home and often had up to 25 people for Thanksgiving dinner every year. She was especially an excellent baker.
When her husband was Scoutmaster of Troop 251 in Fox Chase, she organized many fund raising bake sales. Her father enjoyed pie for breakfast daily - she therefore baked several pies every week. She grew concord grapes, and there was a large cherry tree in the yard - thereby grape and cherry pie were unique and often requested when in season.
She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed visiting her sister-in-law Claire when she lived in Arizona.
Alas, she lost her balance on the stairs (due to her parkinson stiffness) and fell down the stairs which led to her death. She had just completed decorating her house for Christmas and was going upstairs to the den to watch TV.
