Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated for John Joseph Fanning Saturday morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery directed by Stewart Mortuary. Mr. Fanning, a resident of Salida for 25 years, died Tuesday at Salida Hospital. Born on July 28, 1893 in Raton, New Mexico, he was a retired machinist for Denver and Rio Grande Railway. His wife and son preceded him in death. Survivors include two half sisters, Dorothy Hansbro and Helen Hansbro, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a half brother, Jack Hansbro of Hobbs, New Mexico; and a sister-in-law, Lottie Case of Cottonwood, Arizona.
