Dr. J. H. Abrams Funeral in Atwood
Atwood, July 7.- Dr. James Henry Abrams died at his home Saturday morning after an illness of several days duration, death being caused by a complication of diseases.
Dr. Abrams waas born in Decatur near the site of Fairview Park, and moved to Blue Mound with his parents a few years afterwards, where he spent his boyhood. He attended Northwestern University, afterwards entering Rush Medical college where he graduated in 1878. After completing his course in medical college he moved to Dalton City and began the practice of medicine. He was married to Miss Sarah J Proctor of near Macon, November, 1874. He moved then to Atwood in 1881 where he has since made his home.
His wife died in 1895, and in May 1899 he was married to Anna White of Dolleyheaad, Ala., who survives. He also leaves three sons and one daughter, Hugh, James, and Ben Abrams, and Mrs. Leona Gross. He also leaves six grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in the First Christian church at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, Rev. Eugene Rainey officiated. Burial was at Mackville under the auspices of the Masons.
