Herman (Peanuts) Braun, 84, 181 W. Walnut St., St. Henry, suffered a heart attack while shoveling snow and was dead on arrival at Community Hospital, Coldwater, at approximatley 9:15 a.m. today.
He was a retired farmer, a World War I veteran, and a member of the Holy Name Society of the St. Henry Catholic Church.
Mr. Braun was born March 1, 1892, at St. Peter, to Peter and Catherine (Huelskamp) Braun. He married Mary A. Wolters April 18, 1923, and she survives, along with four children: Walter, R. 1, Maria Stein, Louis, St. Henry; Mrs. Ernest (Luella) Ontrop, Portland, Ind.; and Mrs. Robert L. (Mary Ann) Droesch, Coldwater.
Other survivors are two sisters, Sister Laura and Sister Liberata, Salem Heights, Dayton; and a brother, Ben, St. Marys; also a half-brother Urban, Coldwater; and a half-sister, Mrs. Roman (Lena) Westgerdes, Fort Recovery; a step-brother, Albert Brunswick, R.1, St. Henry; and 16 grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Braun in death were a son Ernest, in 1934 and a daughter, Sister Rose, in 1973, two brothers, three sisters, a half-sister and four grandchildren.
