Birth: Dec., 1824, Ireland
Death: Apr. 30, 1902
Boone County
Iowa, USA

Boone County Democrat May 9, 1902
Timothy Hawley was born in 1828 in County Clare, Ireland, and died at his home in Ogden, Iowa, April 30, 1902. When a young man of about twenty years of age he left his native country and came to America, and made his home in Wisconsin, in Winnebago county, where in 1865, he married Miss Mary Hannigan, at Nenah. To this union six children were born, five of them yet living. In 1883 he came to Boone county and settled on fine farm in Amaqua township, where he continued to reside until the children had grown up and left their old home for new ones, and with old age and increasing infirmities he moved to Ogden a few years ago. For the past year he has gradually failed and dropsical complications and old age hastened the end. The funeral exercises were held from the Catholic church in Ogden May 1, and interment will be at the Catholic cemetery in Boone. The children had all been telegraphed of his death, but when these lines were written all had not arrived—Ogden Reporter

On the 1900 census he is listed as a Landlord, who came to America in 1849. They were the parents of six, one died as an infant/child.

Timothy and Mary's children were all born in Wisconsin. Their surviving children are John R, Michael H, William JAMES, Timothy Cornelius, and Daniel Frank.
At long last, we have found the surname of Timothy-- my husband's gr grandfather. He went by the surname "Hawley" as do all of his descendents, but I just got a copy of his probate record and death certificate (91902) and they both say "Timothy Earley" (the probate records also says "also known as Timothy Hawley").

Timothy and Mary Hannigan married in Neenah, Outagamie County, WI in 1864. The lived in Outagamie County until 1883 when they moved to Boone County, IA. He owned a farm in Amaqua township until just a few years before his death, when he moved into a house in Yell township.

Michael Hannigan (relation unknown) was the executor of his estate.
