Sidney John Albrecht (Sid) moved to heaven on Thursday, August 28, 2014. He was one month shy of his 76th birthday. He fought hard and courageously with hope to overcome the return of his colon cancer.
Sid was blessed to be born into a family with a long and strong Christian heritage. His father was a Mennonite Pastor for many years. His roots helped him to be a man of integrity and character with strong values, even though he didn't talk about his faith - He lived it.
Sid met Helen in 1957 and they married in 1959. They were blessed with three daughters, Lori, Julie and Cindy. His love and devotion for his family was his first priority in life. To the end of his life, he did everything possible to help Helen for after he was gone.
Sid spent 51 years at the only job he had during his life. He was always busy and had a talent for fixing things. He found it difficult to throw anything away. Even in a semi-conscious state, he talked about fixing things on his To-Do-List. Praise God, his work is done!
He was an amazing, extraordinary man who will be greatly missed but his memory and spirit will live forever in our hearts.
On behalf of Helen and daughters, they would like to give special thanks to Sid's sisters, Loretta and Jean who gave him such loving care and helped usher him into the arms of our Lord.
