Evana Mae Kunshek Wilson

ST. CLAIR, Mo. Evana Mae Wilson of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on April 4, 2010, having reached the age of ninety-eight years, one month and three days.

Evana was born in Pittsburg, KS on March 1, 1912, daughter of Johann Kunshek and Mary Kunshek nee Grilc.

On February 5, 1939, she was united in marriage to James Alfred Wilson and two sons came to bless this union.

Evana is survived by her sons, Charles J. Wilson and wife, Patricia, of St. Clair and James Wilson and wife, Judith, of Conroe, TX; by one sister, Joy Elaine Wininger of Dayton, OH; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Evana was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Mary Kunshek; by her husband, James A. Wilson; by two brothers, Rudolph and August Kunshek; and by two sisters, Virginia Giddings and Mayme Prenk.

Evana was a Christian and member of the Christian Church in Springfield, MO.

She was also a past member of the Order of Eastern Star, Pittsburg, KS chapter.

Evana had made caring for her home and family her career in life and she never tired of her job.

As a young girl, she had taught school in a one room school house in McCormick, KS.

She was a fabulous cook and especially enjoyed making pastry from recipes she had acquired from her parents home country of Austria.

After her husband had retired, they enjoyed traveling and seeing many parts of the world.

Evana's family was her pride and joy and she truly cherished the time they shared.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Private committal services will be held at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

The Wilson family was served by the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
