Daughter of George Washington Britton and Cynthia Symtha Crane. Martha was a housewife. She died as a result of an auto accient 6 miles west of Joplin on Highway 66. See Missouri Death Certificate #18383.
Per family member, ldsmiley1, on Ancestry.com: Martha's death records from the mortuary and the state of Missouri show her being buried at Fairview Cemetary. I located her headstone at Forest Park Cemetery under her maiden name of Britton. I placed a newer stone and left the old stone."
Research by two different contributors have uncovered, and verified information, that Martha is not buried in Fairview Cemetery others have posted her twice.
She is believed to be married three times, possibly more, as is verified on her marker:
1) She married Lemuel Dugan Long, 15 Sep 1875, Newton Co., MO. (Children, Lottie Mahala and Oscar L., Benjamin L. and Charles B. Long.)
2) Married to Isaac Charles Murphy, abt. 1886.
3) George Wright of Diller, Jefferson, NE, to Martha S. Britton of Joplin, MO., 1 May 1907, Carthage, MO.
4) Researchers have found no documentation for Mr. Crane.
