She was born in Rich Valley, to the late William and Lummie Cahill Strouth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, William Ray Cornwell and her son-in-law, Bobby Winebarger.
Mrs. Cornwell was a wonderful person who lived an exemplary life; she was loved and admired by her entire family.
She is survived by one daughter, Alice Winebarger, Marion; two grandchildren, Sherri Blair and husband Ed, Marion, and Gary Winebarger and wife Darcy, Marion; two great-grandchildren, Laura Gaver and Anna Winebarger; one great-great-granddaughter, Kaelyn Pennington; and three sisters, Lucille Powell, Marion, Nora Stanberry, Dublin, and Rachel Stump, Roanoke.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 2 from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 3 at the Highland Memory Gardens, in Dublin. The family received friends on Sunday evening from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
