James Ernest "Brother" Randall was born to the late Ernest and Mary Pauline Hall Randall in Gladewater, Texas. He was the third child of four siblings; Jerry, Vernellia and Brenda Joyce. James was lovingly called "Brother" or "Brother Boy" by his family and friends.

At an early age, his family moved to Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Following the death of his mother, in 1957, they moved back to Texas. With the assistance of other family members and under the care of Major and Christine Rogers, foster parents, James received his primary education in Hawkins, Munday, Beaumont, Muleshoe and Amarillo. He also attended University of Texas, Huston-Tillotson, and Austin Community College in Austin, Texas. He entered the United States Air Force in July of 1969 while residing in Austin, Texas and served a tour of duty in Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea during the Vietnam era. He was honorably discharged in 1972.

After his discharge from the service, he remained in Austin, Texas for several years. He then moved to Houston, Texas and began work as a draftsman. In 1980, James moved to Beaumont, Texas working for Petrocon and later became employed with Exxon in Baytown, Texas. In later years, James worked as a process operator for BASF in Beaumont, Texas.

On April 15, 1986, he wed LeEartha M. Dural at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. R. D. Carrington officiating. A blended family of daughters from previous marriages was formed by this union. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed both saltwater and freshwater fishing. Some of his excursions included annual treks to the banks of the world famous Kenai River on the Alaska Peninsula; Tallamook in Portland, Oregon, Dam B, Sabine Lake and Rollover Pass. His dedication to the unity of the family is evidenced by his research of the family's genealogy. James completed extensive work and studies of the Randall Family. His primary research includes a comprehensive examination of the Manles and Narcissus Randles Family scanning two centuries dating back to 1810.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Randall and Mary Pauline Hall Randall. James was born to eternity while at home surrounded by loved ones.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, LeEartha M. Randall; daughters, Gina N. Randall and Nicole Randall; Tonya Dewberry (Courtney); sisters, Vernellia Randall, Brenda Randall (Stephen); brothers, Jerry Randall (Johnnie), Kenneth Lowe (Sylvia); aunts, Barbara Bowie (Jimmie), Helen Johnson, Betty Edwards (Donnie), Clifton Randall, Dorene Randall; an uncle, Matthew Hall; best friend, Gregory Bush (Marcella); and a host of other relatives and friends.

Burial was held Friday, July 14, 2006, at Pioneers Cemetery Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas under the direction of Comeaux-Community Funeral Chapels, Inc. Beaumont, Texas.
