Born the forth child of a possible five had nine children all possibly born in the home his father built near Esmont, Albemarle,VA. He applied for a pension for having fought in the Revolution but was denied because his required time of service did not total enough time. Supposedly his father caught him after he ran away to fight in the war twice , so he did not meet the time requirement.
