William A. King, 80, died early Monday at a hospital in Natchez, where he resided, after a lengthy illness.
A retired railroad man, with more than 40 years of service, Mr. King had been a conductor for the Illinois Central Railroad until 1947.
Mr. King was born in Winnsboro on February 11, 1887, being the son of the late E. M. and Georgietta Brinsfield King.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Camille J. King, Natchez; a son, Dr. William A. King, New Orleans; a daughter, Mrs. E. A. May, Jr., Jackson, Miss.; a brother H. M. King, Alexander; two sisters, Misses Grace and Eva King Winnsboro; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in Natchez, and interment was in the family plot at the Natchez Cemetery.
