He was born March 10, 1919 in Cascade a son of Frank and Nancy Shires Wettlaufer.
He was a veteran of WW II having served in the Army, and was a member of the Eugene Grafius American Legion Post 104 in Montoursville. He worked for the former C.A. Reed Co., and was also a self-employed garage owner.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spoiling his grandchildren.
On Dec. 24, 2002 he was predeceased by his wife, the former Grace I. Williams.
He is survived by two sons, Ellis L. (Shirley) Wettlaufer Jr., and Edward L. (Shelia) Wettlaufer, both of Trout Run; two brothers, George of South Williamsport, and Raymond of Williamsport; two sisters, Dolly Livermore of Trout Run, and Sue Betts of Williamsport; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with the Rev. Jonathan W. Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Pennsdale Cemetery, Trout Run. Friends will be received on Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
