Oscar Ellington Allen, of Rockville, died Friday at an area hospital. He was 82.
Allen was a U.S. Army veteran who fought in the Normandy Invasion and earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Survivors include two sons, Terry Allen of Wagarville and Grover Allen of Jackson; one brother, Bernard Allen of Chickasaw; one sister, Maxine Parnell of Thomasville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
