Opal Mae Adams, 76, of Caruthersville, died March 30, 1999, at Kennett. She was born February 15, 1923, in Ripley, Tenn.
Adams was a homemaker and was united in marriage to James Harold "C.D." Adams on September 16, 1939, in Portageville. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1967. Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Shelby Jean Taylor on July 6 1989; two sisters, Mary Brown, on April 14, 1993; Martha Smith, on October 17, 1993; a half sister, Hazel Mansfield; a brother, Gene Gunn on September 11, 1989.
Survivors include three sons, James A. Adams of Springfield; I. Andy Adams of Blytheville, Ark. and Bobby Ray Adams of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Carl Gunn of Hayti; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, April 2, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bill Wolfe officiating. Interment was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
