Dr. and Mrs. Bishop were spending the winter at their home in Moore Haven, Fla., when she became ill and entered the Methodist Hospital in Memphis. She later was moved to the local hospital.
Born January 25, 1888, in Paris, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Jas. W. and Fannie Gibson Hart. She had lived in Caruthersville for many years and was active in the work of the First Baptist Church, also the local chapter of Eastern Star, as long as her health permitted.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, Dr. Delbert Bishop of this city and Dr. Harrel Bishop of Hayti, also seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held yesterday (Thursday) afternoon at the First Baptist Church here with Rev. Howard Ray officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie cemetery, with LaForge Undertaking Company service.
