Obituary: Miller County Autogram Sentinel, May 1945

Oliver Wall, well known farmer of the Brumley community, died at his home May 20, 1945 after a prolonged illness.

Oliver Floyd Wall was born on August 25, 1888, the son of A. F. and Susana Wall. He was at the time of his death, 56 years, 8 months and 22 days of age. He was first united in marriage to Lois Barber and to this union two children were born, Glenn Wall, who is overseas at the present time in the Armed Forces of the United States, and Gene Wall, who preceded him in death. His first wife passed away a number of years ago.

On December 24, 1919, he was united again in marriage to Marie Hutsler and to this union ten children were born. Three of those children preceded him in death in infancy. Those living are Thelma, Wanda, Lee, Clay, Clark, Floyd, Nile, Lindell and Larry, all of the home.

He leaves behind to mourn his going, his wife and children, four sisters, Mrs. Porter George of Richland, Mrs. Frank Steen of Iberia, Mrs. John Thompson of Springfield and Mrs Anna Thompson of Kansas City, Mo.; a large number of other relatives and many friends.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and lived true to the laws of Masonry until the end. He was a man who was honest, upright and trustworthy in all of his dealings; a devoted companion, a good father, a good neighbor and citizen in the community in which he lived. He was honored and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, not only by his companion and children but by his many other relatives and friends.

Just another time in life that we are reminded that death is yet abroad in our land and that one by one we step from the stage of action to go on to try that realms of that world which is to come. Funeral services were held at the Brumley Baptist Church, Tuesday, May 22, with Rev. Virgil Smith officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery with Adams & Casey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Thanks N.T.
