He graduated from Kennewick High School in Washington in 1971, from Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton in 1977 and from Oregon State University in Corvallis in 1981.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1975, achieving the rank of Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class and receiving a letter of commendation for meritorious action.
Mr. Bush was an engineer at Mare Island in Vallejo, CA, and at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 20 years.
He married Valerie (Louge) Bush Dec. 10, 1988, in Marquam, OR.
He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners and the OSU Beavers football team.
He attended Prince of Peach Catholic Church in Belfair.
A memorial mass will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and he will be inurned at Willamette National Cemetery in Oregon. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.
