Mrs. A. McGinty Passes Away At Wright

In the death of Mrs. Amanda Sherrill McGinty, who passed away Monday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m., at the home of her son, K. V. McGinty of Wrightsboro the county lost one of its oldest and highly esteemed residents.
Mrs. McGinty's death followed a long illness. Her condition for the past several weeks had been critical, the end being expected at anytime.
She was 87 years, 10 months and 19 days of age.
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Cora Wothington, Dale, Texas, Mrs. E. T. Mills, Edna, and Mrs. Lee Hunter, Yoakum; two sons, J. W. McGinty, Fallas and K. V. McGinty, Wrightsboro. She also leaves 36 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, 74 descendants in all.
She was a native of Mississippi, but had lived here many years.
The funeral was held this morning at 10:30 o'clock from the McGinty residence with the principal services conducted at the Wrightsboro Baptist church of which she had been a member for many years . Rev. James I. O'Neill of the Cost Baptist church officiated.
Her remains were laid to rest in the Wrightsboro cemetery in the Wrightsboro cemetery in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives from over that section where she was known and loved for so many years.
Acting pallbearers included Alfred Gray, Frank and Lem Stonestreet, John Meneley, Lorris Rushing and Ed Gravel.
The funeral was under the direction of Kleine Funeral Parlor.
Death came as a blessed release from suffer, a long period of invalidism, ending a very long and useful life of service that constitutes a worthy monument to her memory, a treasured heritage to her numerous descendants.
While her presence in the home will be greatly missed by the loved ones, they have the blessed assurance that she has gone to be with the Lord whom she trusted, enjoying the glories of Heaven and a well earned rest after many years of devoted service here.
