Dau. of Philip German and Catherine Vetter.

As a girl, Josephine lived with the family on the lower east side, at 20 Rivington St. The family lived at that address for over 35 years, and her dad operated a wheelwright business around the corner on Chrystie st., for over 45 years(!).

Josephine married Francis/Frank/Franz Albrecht ca. 1874. They became parents of 7 children (Frank, Josephine, Katherine, John, William, Ambrose, & Mary), all of whom reached adulthood.

In the early years of their marriage, they lived at 24 Rivington st., just up the block from Josephine's parents. Around 1883, they moved to 611 E Ninth st, a few blocks from Frank's parents.

Frank was a music teacher and later was the church organist at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church (34th st., Manhattan) for more than 25 years.

About 1903, the family moved to 187 Franklin Place, in Flushing, and that was where Frank died in 1913. Josephine & the family (including dau. Katherine & her husband, an NYC policeman) continued to live at that address until 1932, when Josephine died (at age 83).
