Helen S. Newton, 77, passed away on September 13, 2008 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Helen was preceded in death by the love of her life Harold, who died in 1997. Survived by her two sons, Terry J. (Karen) Newton of Monument, Colorado, and Don A. (Jennifer) Newton of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and grandchildren, Chad Newton of Colorado Springs, Zachary Newton of Monument, Lisa Newton of Arlington, Virginia, Tyler Newton, Clifford, and Brian (Tami) Campbell of Glenwood Springs, and Justin Campbell of Little Rock, Iowa. Great grandchildren Natasha Newton of Glenwood Springs and Madison Campbell of Littlerock, Iowa. Born to Earl T. and Albertha G. Roth on May 21, 1931 in Paonia, Colorado, Helen was a longtime Pueblo resident. She graduated from Paonia High School in 1949 and married Harold on September 23, 1951. Helen was a homemaker her entire life. Member of the Ascension Episcopal Church where she served in many roles associated with the St. George's and St. Cecilia's choirs of Ascension. Helen also served as Jr. Warden at Ascension Episcopal Church. Also a member of the Southern Colorado A's Model A Car Club, Veteran Motor Car Club of America. At her request, there will be no viewing. Cremation by Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service will be held on October 24, 2008, at 1 p.m., at Ascension Episcopal Church, 18th and Grand, in Pueblo with the Rev. Mary Beth Conroy officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
