JAMES W. CHRISMAN, ED.D.
James W. Chrisman, Ed.D., 80, formerly of Grandview, Mo., passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Lee's Summit Hospital. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S. Raytown Road, Kansas City, MO 64149; burial in Longview Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association of Western Missouri, 2007 Broad-way, Kansas City, MO 64108.
James was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Fulton, Mo., to Brish Newman and Edith Martin (Tarr) Chrisman. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired as associate superintendent after 31 years of service with Consolidated School District No. 4 in Grandview. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grandview.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Chrisman, on Aug. 20, 1991; and brother, Charles M. Chrisman.
Survivors include his sons, James M. Chrisman and wife, Kathy, Raymore, Mo., and Timothy W. Chrisman and wife, Donna, Pueblo, Colo.; daughters, Deborah E. Savery and husband, Keith, Lee's Summit, and Lee Ann Potter and husband, Mike, Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Hazel Flach, Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Christy, Jennifer, Sandy, Janice, Tiffany, Jill, Suzy, Julia, Kaylee, Lauren and Ryan; and six great-grandchildren.
