His correct father is Benjamin Davis, d. 1805, of the Jersey Settlement, old Rowan County (now Davidson County), North Carolina. (It is not certrain where BD is buried; he was in the process of building his RevWar bounty land in Smith Co TN into their new home.) See the Raleigh Minerva, 30 Sep 1814, page 3, for a listing of all Benjamin Davis's children and heirs. You can also see elsewhere that his twin brother was Benjamin Merrill Davis.
