LINDA ANN (SWENSEN) BURDUSIS Entered into rest July 6, 2004, following a very long and courageous battle with breast cancer. A third-generation San Franciscan, she was a graduate of Mercy High School and the American Airlines Flight Attendant Academy. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Earle D. and Nora Mae Swensen. She is survived by her loving husband, Deonne (Don) Burdusis of Pleasanton; adored children, Stacie (Scott) Logan; Matthew (Donna) Burdusis; and Jeremy Burdusis. She was a loving Mimi to her grandchildren, Christopher Logan and Alyssa Lyn Burdusis, and cherished sister of Patti (Paul) Pedroli and Dorothy (Triant) Varellas. She also leaves behind her devoted Labrador, Jackson Browne. Linda was a flight attendant, flight instructor and flight attendant recruiter for American Airlines. She was awarded the coveted Professional Flight Attendant of the Year many times and was a lifetime member of the Professional Flight Attendants Hall of Fame. She was past president of the American Airlines Golden Gate Kiwi Club, and for many years, was co-chairman of the American Airlines "WINGS" committee in San Francisco, a non-profit organization that raises money for flight attendants with catastrophic illness or injury. She also participated in numerous events to raise money for breast cancer research. Linda's life was her family, friends and her work as a flight attendant, where she shared her passionate joy of living. She will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness, boundless energy, compassion and her ever-present smile. She made "forever" friends because of her warmth and open nature. Linda was sustained and nurtured during the last years of her illness by the constant love and presence of her family and countless friends. A Trisagion will be held on July 12, 2004, 7:30 p.m. at Greer Family Mortuary, 2694 Blanding Avenue, Alameda. A funeral service will be held July 13, 11 a.m., at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension, 4700 Lincoln Avenue, Oakland, Calif., with interment to follow at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, Calif. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Airlines "Wings Foundation, Inc.," c/o Patricia Howitt, 5772 Whispering Pines Ct., Castro Valley, CA 94552, or Susan G.
