Hiram Eugene Cowan
Funeral services for Hiram Eugene Cowan, 64, of 1421 Stovall Street, who died yesterday at 7 a.m. at a local infirmary after an illness of two weeks, will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at Trinity-on-the-Hill Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Z. Wigging officiating. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Cowan was born in Abbeville, S.C., but has resided in Augusta for the last 30 years. Active in church work, he was charter member of Trinity-on-the-Hill Methodist Church and took a great part in the building of the church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Janie Belle Jaro Cowan, brother E. C. Cowan of Hamlet, N.C., two sisters, Mrs. J. N. Conley of Elberton, Ga., and Mrs. W. P. Harrison of Calhoun Falls, S.C., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be A. A. Aenehbacher, Ralph Gifford, Foster Sego, Jack Goolsby, S. T. Russell and Hubert Hamilton.
