Lt. Col. Charles G. Blitch, Jr., 88, of Altoona, Fla., died April 16, 2007 at Lakeview Terrace in Altoona. Lt. Col Blitch was a native of Blitchton, Ga., and had resided in Altoona for 1 year, coming from Orange City, Fla. Lt. Col. Blitch was retired from the U.S. Army, having served his country during World War II and had also worked in Bridge Administration for the Army Corp of Engineers. He was a member of Chatham Auxiliary in Savannah, Ga.
Services: Graveside services with full military honors will be held Friday, May 4, 2007 at St. Augustine Memorial Park, 2600 Old Moultrie Rd., St. Augustine.
Burial: St. Augustine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors: His wife of 52 years, Anne M. Blitch; one son, Charles G. Blitch, III, Orlando; daughters, Barbara Borowiec, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Sally Fattori, Jupiter, Fla.; sisters, Leila Brabo, Savannah, and Helen Clark, Scottsdale, Ariz.; three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations and remembrances to the charity of your choice.

ALTOONA - Charles G. Blitch Jr., 88, of Altoona, a former Orange City resident, died Monday at Lakeview Terrace.
Mr. Blitch, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Blitchton, Ga., and moved to Altoona in 2006 from Orange City. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Army and also worked as a bridge administrator for the Army Corps of Engineers. He enjoyed flying planes and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Anne; a son, Charles III, Orlando; two daughters, Barbara Borowiec, Fort Lauderdale, and Sally Fattori, Jupiter; two sisters, Leila Brabo, Savannah, Ga., and Helen Clark, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.
