Angus R. Carruthers, 55, native Astorian but for the past few years a resident of Seaside, died suddenly this morning at his home there. Death resulted from a heart attack to which the deceased had been subject for a number of years.
Mr Carruthers was a World war veteran having served in France with Battery C, 65th C.A.C. He engaged in a number of lines of business in Astoria during his residence here but ill health forced his retirement shortly after the Astoria fire of 1922.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Carruthers; two sisters, Mrs C.B. Allen, Astoria, and Mrs. Zoe Ridehalgh, Portland, and one brother, R.R. Carruthers, of Portland.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
