Jack W. Zordell, 85, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Tuesday January 18, 2011 while at home. Jack was born August 30, 1925, in South Bend, Indiana, to William and Wanda Shadler Zordell.
He served in the United States Army during World War II where he was captured and became a POW during the Belgian Bulge and is the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Jack's passion since moving to the Village 12 years ago was playing bridge and botchy ball.
Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, G. Jean Zordell of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; two sons, John and Cheryl Zordell of British Columbia, Canada; David Zordell of Verdi, Nevada; one daughter, Catherine and Ruben Guilloty of Chula Vista, California.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Christopher Zordell.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 23, 2011, at CedarVale Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be at CedarVale Cemetery directly following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Jack's honor to the American Heart Association at PO Box 1653 Topeka, KS 66601-1653.
