dau of Nathan BAKER and Mahala SHATTUCK, mother of Nathan B. W., Frank F. Or S.,Dr. Fred B. , Dr. Fremont Nathan, William, Harley BAKER, Emma R.

No date or newspaper given.

Mrs. Emeline B. ROWEN, wife of Stephen G. ROWEN, died in her home at Kirkland, Ill., June 11, 1883. She was born at Pompy, (Pompey) Onondago Co., N.Y. Jan. 31, 1821; was married July 11, ?18?? (can't read) and the same year with her husband moved to her late home, whence she was called to join the great throng beyond the river.
Mrs. ROWEN was the mother of six children, one dying in infancy, and five surviving--four sons and one daughter, the youngest twenty years old. Her early life was spent in a good home, receiving the training and culture fitting her to occopy in after life the place of wife and mother. Her home was her altar on which Love's sacrifice was laid, and the family formed the chosen circle that delighted her most. As a neighbor she was kind and obliging; from the needy she never turned away.
Mrs. ROWEN made no public confession of faith; yet she sought to know the Lord, and always interested herself in what ever pertained to the Master's kingdom. She believed that, to her, "death is the gate to endless joy." And may we not hope that though unknown to prophet here, she was one of God's reserved number, whose record is on high. She was greatly esteemed, as witnessed the large number who accompanied her body to its resting place. And so after months of sickness, in which love and care were not wanting, she passed away. And we shall meet her.
"Oh! to think of meeting there,
The friends whose graves received our tear,
The mother loved, the wife adored,
To our arms restored.
And all the joys which death did sever,
Given to us again forever!"

Emeline died age 62y 4m 10d. She is my GGGG Aunt
