Son of Samuel Burpee and Sarah Fales.

Andrew had died from the effect of the gunshot wound to his back, received a few days previous by the accidental discharge of a gun in the hands of his son while hunting. The gun in the hands of the son was discharged by the hammer getting caught in the bushes. The discharge made a great wound in the father's back penetrating the lungs.

Married 19 Aug 1857 Lakeland, Washington, Minnesota to Ellen Maria Ballou.

To their union was born 4 children:
Ira Ballou Burpee, Don Alphonso Burpee, Minnie Ula Burpee and Nellie Maria Burpee.

Civil War Soldier:
Andrew served the Union as a Private in Company C, New Hampshire 12th Regiment of New Volunteers in the Civil War on quota of Alexandria. He enlisted 20 Aug 1862, and was discharged for disability at Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire on 25 Apr 1863.

He settled in Bristol, Grafton, New Hampshire in Jul of 1863 on Summer Street.

Andrew was a Blacksmith by trade
