Mr. Bond was found dead Monday afternoon, slumped over on a tractor, which he had been operating in a neighbor's field near his home. A coroner's inquest ruled death from natural causes. He had been in poor health for some time. A neighbor found him around mid-afternoon. Bond evidently suffered a heart seizure while plowing in the field. Mr. Bond was born October 3, 1897, the son of John E. and Edith Davis Bond, in Aden. On December 10, 1946, he married Laura Jensen in Champaign. He attended school in Hamilton County. He was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the American Legion in McLeansboro. Mr. Bond was a member of the Aden General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Laura (Jenson) Bond; one daughter, Delores Vaughn of Paxton, Ill; and two sisters, Agnes Schriefer of Gilman, and Ella Hutchcraft of Gibson City, and three grandchildren.
