John was one of 10 children (Charles, Esther, Mabel, Mary, Richard, Joe, Helen, Alfred, Eva) and was born to Charles William and Frances Esther Blotz in Mitchell, South Dakota. He married Verna Serck in Sioux Falls, SD on December 22nd, 1947.

NOTE: John is my great-uncle. His sister, Helen, is my grandmother. ~Alina
