Ray Jackson
Ray Leo Jackson, 87, Rt. 1 Box 253, died Monday afternoon at a Lebanon nursing home after a long illness. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Revs. David Johnson and R. Burnell Krager officiating. Burial follows at Willamette Memorial Park.
Friends who wish may contribute in his memory to the Lebanon First Christian Church Memorial Fund.
He was born March 27, 1889 on a donation land claim on Seven Mile Lane, where his family had settled in 1852 and a brother still lives. He spent his life in Linn County. He had lived in Shedd, Halsey and Scio. He was a farmer and dairyman, and he retired in 1942. He married Rhoda Faulkner Nov. 22, 1911. She died in 1963. He married Gladys Brown June 5, 1964. She survives. He was a member of Lebanon First Christian Church.
In addition to his widow, survivors include a son, Lyle Jackson of Shedd; three daughters, Lucille McMains of Lebanon, Ruby Rickards of Redding, Calif. and Rova Wirth of Shedd; a stepson Dale Brown of Lima, Peru; a brother, Harold of Tangent; a sister, Mrs. George (Lenna) Arnett of Albany; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
