Benjamin S. Alvarez age 84, of Ft. Worth, Texas passed away Friday, November 23, 2007.
He was born on April 2, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York to Benjamin S. and Etelvina Gonzales Alvarez.
Benjamin was awarded the Presidential Citation in 1944 while serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife Gwen Alvarez of Ft. Worth, son, Benjamin Alvarez and his wife Drue of New Mexico; daughters, Bonnie Zitek of Rockett, Texas and Belinda Sumrak and husband Brady of North Carolina, nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM. Monday, November 26, 2007 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of North Texas
Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
